KJ's Trip to the Met

Hi Everyone

I just got back from the Met and I had a great time. I went with a friend. We saw the Annual Christmas Tree and Neopolitan Baroque Creche in the Medieval Sculpture Hall. The 20 foot blue spruce is decorated with candelight, angels, and cherubs. It is surrounded by figures and scenery of the Neapolitan Christmas crib with shepherds and their flock, townspeople, and animals. They hold a tree lighting ceremony Tuesday through Sunday also. Here are some pictures that I took outside the museum. My friend Debbie is in the picture on the left above.

These pictures were taken in the Medieval Sculpture Hall. These sculptures were amazing. The third picture below called Ugolino and His Sons created by Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux. You can see the anguish and torment on the father's face. He was imprisoned and condemned to starvation and his four sons offer their bodies for his sustainance.

I will be posting more pictures on my blog at http://kjsmuseumexperiences.blogspot.com/
