Hi Jerry and hello to the rest of the class too. I am looking forward to this class and I have already started planning my "treks" to the museums. I am hoping it will be to Yale this weekend with the Wadsworth Athenaeum next Thursday evening. Check out their website - the first Thursday of the month, they are open later and I think they may even be a bargain!!
Professor - can we use the Peabody Museum as one of our six museums?

Hi Helen... welcome to class! yes do think of your excursions as small mini vacations away from the regular every day responsibilities. Although the Peabody is an excellent natural history Museum, it's not an art museum. So sadly I have to say no to the Peabody. You may go to the Yale, the British Art Center, and even back to the Yale Art Gallery if you'd like to stay in New Haven more.
ReplyDeleteHello class and Professor Nevins, I tried to post a comment,but I think that I did so under the wrong title (What is Due This Week), so here I go again.... First off,I want to say that I am very overwhelmed because I am not too confident with computers,and downloading pictures have me a little shaken up, but I will get through it. On more of a positive not, I am very excited about The Museum Experience. I believe that art and museums gives forth a certain awareness and culture that you wouldn't experience with an everday lifestyle - unless you were that artsy type of person. And I am thrilled to have the opportunity to broaden my horizon. So, bare with me class, I will do my best and hopefully I have an good eye and an even better interpretation.
